We have been traveling back and forth to the Moffitt Cancer Center here in Tampa.

We are in Tampa for surgery tomorrow morning. (friday).

If anyone wants to keep up with her progress, there is a website setup.

Barbara's Info Page

We are all praying for her to be fine, and disease free after the surgery. It's gonna be a long one.

They have some good professionals at Moffitt and of course we know of one healer who can do it all :smt059 :smt023 Our church family will be praying for your wife and the folks who are treating her as well. Thanks for letting us be a part of helping.

Latest Updates:

June 28 - 5:45 pm

Everything is still looking good. Barb is in a good mood, and has been sitting up. She said she was not hurting as bad as yesterday, and is able to sleep some. We saw a laugh and a smile today. That was a good thing to see. This will be the last post today. Since everything is going great, I will post once in the am and once in the pm now on her condition.

June 28 - 9:45 am

Barb is doing great! The doctors just cleared her to start sitting up some. She will still stay in ICU for a little, but they are taking great care of her in there. She is alert and carrying on conversations between naps. We are so pleased with the way everything is going. We are not there yet, but we are beginning to be able stop holding our breath and start relaxing again. We want to thank everyone again for their concern and prayers.

June 27 - 7:30 pm

Barbara has woken good and is talking. They have removed the ventilator tube from her throat. She has pain and just got her pain pump and has a death grip on that button. All vitals are still good. We will see her again at 8pm and then let her sleep tonight. I will post an update in the morning after we see her.

June 27 - 12:30 pm

Everything is still fine. No changes. All vitals are good. She should start waking a little this evening as they pull her off of the sedatives.

June 27 - 9 am

We just got to see Barbara this morning and she is doing fine. She is still sedated some but has opened her eyes a little and is moving around some. All of her vitals are looking good, and no problems have come up. I will post an update around noon. One humorous note: With the tumor removed, Barbara is now only 5 pounds heavier than the twins. Time to go get that 2 piece bathing suit.

June 26 - 6pm

We finally got to see Barb. She looks good, but is still sedated until tomorrow. She responds to us a little when we talk to her. They will slowly take her off sedation tomorrow, so she should start talking a little by tomorrow evening. We will see her again around 8pm and then will go to the hotel and see her again at 8:30 am tomorrow when ICU opens visiting hours. It has been a long day folks. Thank all of you for your concern about our Barbara. Unless something changes, this will be the last post until tomorrow morning.

June 26 - 3:45 pm

Everything is still fine. It is taking a little while to get Barb a room in ICU (they were full), and she was in recovery a little longer. She now has a room and we are going to be able to see her around 4pm. She will be under sedation tonight, and may not be able to talk to us, but we can see her. Will post again later when I get time.

June 26 - 12:30 pm

Barb's surgery is over. The surgeon just told us everything went great, and she is doing fine. She will be moved to ICU and will be there for several days. She will likely be here in Tampa for a week or 10 days. She will have to have some follow-up chemo, and will need some minor surgery to remove the kidney stone later, but everything looks good.

June 26 - 10:50 am

Well, it seems our prayers have been answered. The tumor has been 99.9% removed, and no major organs were involved. There was some resection of the bowels and colon, but not a lot. Also, no major blood vessels were involved. She will be happy to learn she was able to keep her bladder, that was a big worry for her. The doctor said the only thing now was to keep infection out of the resected areas. I will post as soon as we hear she is in recovery. It will still be a little while.

If you guys have been keeping up, you know my wife is doing just great. We are thankful everything has turned out well so far.

Just to let you know it is not all bad, here is my view from the hospital. Me and Mrs. Dubble are already trying to figure out if we can cast that far from the window in the room.

That might be a bit of a stretch even with some light power pro... however, I bet if you worked your way out onto that dock...you could put something pretty close to the pillings....then hang on! :D Glad you and the Mrs are thinking bout fishing...keep up the good work!

Great news. A rod'n reel, a wheel chair and a little stretch of the legs. Bill it to the insurance as mental therapy!
