Just a quick note for all who believe no difference will be made until the next Presidential election. Mid-terms will be here in about a year and a half. The mid-terms can have a huge effect on the current lack of checks & balances.

And I think the tea parties themselves had an instant impact, visible yesterday no less. President Obama refused to commit to Mexico that he'll push gun bans with the explanation that it would be difficult to get through congress. Last I looked, if he merely holds party lines he has votes to do what he pleases so the failure to push for bans right now tells me he is, and I'm thankful, aware that there are masses willing to protest if stirred to anger, and accordingly he made the concious decision not to stir this one pot this very moment.

Every board member has the right to believe whatever they choose and I greatly respect that freedom and volunteered to protect it for eight years. This said, voting AND protesting for the things in which you believe is deeply a part of our patriotic history and whether you agree OR strongly disagree with me on issues I still encourage you to use your first amendment rights.

Also consider that right now gun and ammo sales are among the strongest sectors of the economy!

Ha! U better be careful man, that thing will hurt you! My deposit was a six figure one bud, and my accountant told me to expect approximately a 15% increase first quarter this year. After taxes, i personally made less this year than I did my last year in college. What is the point of trying to be a businessman, support your community, and be successful when you have to give it all back? I did over 40 grand in donations this year before taxes between the four stores. At the end of the year, the business was as close to not making money on paper as it has ever been. My tax bill this year was 28 grand higher than last year after making quarterly deposits. Not to mention all the other taxes I pay annually. 43 grand property, 650-700 grand in sales tax, 190 grand in payroll taxes of which approximately 50 percent is my money in matching funds. This doesnt count local taxes on services in 4 counties and any other everyday taxes on all the goods we purchase in the routine of daily business. Many of the tax breaks I was getting discontinued and still yet many more are gonna be lost. What our government doesnt understand about the "folks" that fall into their taxable crosshairs is that we are the ones who support the community, we are the ones who provide the jobs, we are the ones that do 90% of the charity. When they forcibly take our surplus at the end of the year, thats less capital to operate on for the following year, meaning less jobs, less community support, less charity. All I ask is let me alone to work hard and earn whatever it is I can on my own and when I do, give me a set amount to pay to do my part for those who cant. That way i can know exactly how hard Ive got to work before my money I make is actually my own. Dont miss understand me, I have been very blessed in the business world and I have a wonderful life that Ive worked hard to build, but it just doesnt seem fair to have to give it all back when throughout the year we try and pay it forward on our on. Sorry Guys, I tried not to, had to vent:smt009 !

The wife and I passed John-Boy a few weeks ago on the by pass of Albany Ga. He was pulling that big grill of theirs somewhere. I didn’t believe it him so we slowed down to let him catch back up and sure enough it was. Its hard to mistake him for someone else. Especially with "The Big Show" written all over everything and N.C Tags. I would have waved but he was driving, smoking a cig, and talking on the cell phone all at once. I didn’t want to be the cause of everyone losing their favorite radio show.

Guess one interview question might be in order for BB. Can he say, "MY BIG OL' BUTT!" with enthusiasm and sincerity?

I brought this Tea Party thing up before myself as a possible third party. I claimed that to truely reduce the size of the Federal gove't the 16th Amendment would have to be repealed. That would force the Fed. Gov't to have to run off Tariffs and excise taxes primarily. However, that would put a different challenge to the states as far as running public schools, infrastructure, state military, etc. States could then decide how they want to raise revenue, and just what programs they would want to impliment.
This would leave the Gov't to very limited duties. Ex. Millitary, Execitive agencies, and so on. The debt would have to be distributed to the states. This would also allow states to not be forced to Federal mandates or loose money. Like speed limits, drinking age, emmission standards, or so on. Personally I think the .08 alc. limit is to conservative. Not that I am for drinking and driving.
Problem is this method could cause problems such as some states becoming much like undeveloped countries, while leaving some states being more like much more modernly develped.
This system would definatly reduce the size of the Federal Government, however I as well as you can see other problems. I don't think it will ever happen, but I think it would give states more freedom on how they want to run there perspective states, and get more people involved in the state and local governments. An idea anyway. No, I am not on the Koolaid, not yet anyway.
