I've NEVER gotten a warning. I've been cited for EVERY "violation." I've paid violations for fishing the Aucilla and not having a fresh water license due to the fact that my dad caught a bass while fishing for reds and threw it in the livewell. He had his fresh water license. We got checked at the ramp while driving off. Everything else checked out fine. Got a ticket last year for idleing back to the lighthouse ramp in the wake zone canal. My 5 year old took his vest off when we got to the wake zone. Yet again, everything else checked out fine on the boat, fish, etc. If he was 6, no problemReel Cowboy wrote:They are just about as bad as road police but with fewer restrictions.
If he's in a decent mood and you're not being a prick, chances are you might squeek by. But if he ain't or you are, life is going to get pretty dang interesting and expensive in a dang hurry.
It's a thankless job and I'm glad they are there but like most goverment employees, some of them have no business interacting with the public.
