Its fine to get on plane, I believe the problem still lies in the trim. Prop is correct, cav plate position is good. Dealer told to trim the dog outa that thing. I am not worried about hitting the 50 mark, just getting it to 5600 to be in the range.

Trim is a bigger issue on the larger boats and bigger motors. We had a ski barge with a 115 for 23 years. Very little trim input was required in operating that boat. I would say it operated very simular to your last rig.
On the 21 footer we have now you have to trim it way down to get up on plane and then keep adjusting up until it almost feels uncomfortable. I still haven't got used to it yet. Then, if you want to make a sharp turn you have to trim it back down a little. With the ski barge, it was turn key and go.
I think you'll get those extra RPM's once ya get use to her.
