you know im fine with them cutting it down to 1 gag...that's as long as they're willing to bump the red grouper limit up to 4. in my opinion it's the gag grouper that seem to have taken the hit. i cant tell you how many red's and large reds at that we've been pulling up this summer.

either way i think both limits are BS.
Three-fourths of the Earth's surface is water, and one-fourth is land. It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.

Dear Mr. Nash:

Thank you for contacting me regarding red snapper fishing.

Red snapper fishing is a Gulf coast tradition. However, in recent years, the population of these fish has declined and something must be done to help the red snapper rebound. The Gulf Coast Fishery Management Council recently voted unanimously in favor of a red snapper rebuilding plan. This plan is currently under review by NOAA.

I am committed to protecting our State's environment, while also helping our fishing community and maintaining our vital tourism industry. As a member of the Senate Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard Subcommittee, I am actively engaged in fisheries issues. I will keep your views in mind should this issue come before the Senate. Please do not hesitate to contact me in the future.
