..I'm to lazy to read the whole post can someone bring me up to speed...5 paragraph format, double spaced...etc......Been running shimanos and abu's for years...hose them down with WD40 once or twice a year....

If you're talking to me, I was getting back with Littoral who, on page 2, 4th post, asked me to describe my anti-corrosion method I'd mentioned earlier.
Hey, I wouldn't waste any of my time trying to keep one of them Shimano, Wally World Wonders alive! They should all be stomped, right out of the box. like you would a rattlesnake!

Chalk, to sum up: about six months ago I bought two Daiwa Capricorn

reels. They developed a lot of roughness in the drivetrain so I sent them

back to the factory. Daiwa replaced them with two brand new and

improved reels.

Cranfield started all the rest of this Crap. It is all HIS fault....well

lightchop deserves a goodly part of the blame also.

Now, about those trout spinners......

), you have already demonstrated the discerning side of your character.

The true summary is that, Ken prefers Daiwa Capricorn fishing reels to Shimano

and lightchop is being lightchop.

I love my Shimano Stradic and Abu's...I expect alot out of my reels, those who have fished with me know if I can't cast a country mile I get ill......As far as anti corrosion.....wash your reels after each use with fresh water...I shoot mine with WD40 about twice a year...I have one abu that I have had since I was about twelve (the red one), I'm 33 now.....Grant it the Abu's last longer than the Shimano's, but I got rid of my 67 mustang after a few years too

........Anyway...I'm glad you like your Diawa's Ken...I have had a few of them too.......I love Crans quote on LC if he could type faster.......LC can you play Chop Sticks for us

LC is alright in my book........

Trout spinners = Cabelas Jig Spinners & 1/8 oz jig head = your favorite SWA = trout spinner, basically a big azz beetle spin

I can out cast you all with your bevy of Wally World Winders!
Using my Brisbane Side Winder reel, by Sir Charles, I can out throw yâ€™all with the flick of a wrist and put an end to all this idle chatter.
Can you critiquers, connoisseurs and catawallers tell me, of what reel, I speak?

I know what your talking about...take my Bass pro rubbish rod thank you and attach a spool of line and I have what you call a redneck brisdane side winder reel

......Though it only excels in casting and not in line pickup and a smooth drag..but alas I think I'm sounding like someone else now

Once again I am wildly over estimated.
I don,t really understand the type of reel you are referring to.

The type Chalk is showing we call a side cast reel. It casts like a spinning reel and retrieves like a centrepin.
Alvey were one of the famous makers.
They are as rare as Rocking Horse droppings, now.

The "red one" Abu you have Chalk, is it the original 7000 ?
