That weekend got me to wondering if anybody needs a partner. I'll already be in town anyway (playing music Fri-Sat night at the Wind Mark demo house). I can't be sure what "condition" I'll be in early that morning but I sure do know St Joe Bay.

At least ya didn't ask if I wanted ta spend the night SG and you let me know what the highest bid goes on that info before ya sale it off

I'd offer ya a ride on mine Lit, but it's strictly a two person ride "unless it's my girls or no fishin goin on"

I am off that weekend....sooo I think I need to bring the new boat..dont know if I'll fish as a tournament participant, but I'll sho nuff come on over. I'll try and con my dad into fishing with me. LOL I tried to get him to fish a St joe tourny with me 2 yrs ago and he wouldn't..

Give me an excuse to go visit dad in Mexico Beach.

St. Joe Bay
Trout are hitting top-water lures right now, which is easy to fish because the water is still clear of floating grass. Plastic grubs fished below a popping cork will also be effective. Live bait anglers can take advantage of the abundance of alewives currently in the bay. There are plenty of bluefish still roaming over the deep grass beds and channels. Spanish mackerel have thinned out but the ones remaining are running 3 to 6 pounds. Multiple schools of tripletail are still around. They are most easily spotted during a still period in the tide when the fish tend to rise toward the surface. The best places are around the mouth of the St. Joe Canal and around any floating debris you happen upon. There are still schools of butterfly rays moving along the beach on the outside of the peninsula. Pompano follow the rays, looking for food stirred up by their wings. Try casting a prism-colored pompano jig ahead of the rays, then bump it slowly along the bottom just as the rays past. If you jig it too hard, you'll snag a ray, which isn't fun.

Where do you put in? Is presnell's on the mainland side or out on the cape?
From google-e it looks like there's a ramp at the bridge?

I see that (the) high tide is after weigh-in so no worry about getting landlocked in the back forty?

Rodbow, Presnell's gets pretty crowded at times. It is on State Rd C-30A. You can get landlocked on a low tide over there.

The downtown ramp in St. Joe is free and is in good shape. It is at the first traffic signal you come to in St Joe if you are headed west on 98. Take a left. There are some channel markers when going out & coming in you need to pay special attention to. When leaving the ramp, you go between the gazebo on the land and the green marker on the right...keep heading to the next set of channel markers before you head out across the bay. Lots of sand bars in there.

There is also the ramp at the Eagle Harbor State Park over on the peninsula.

The ramp that is under the bridge, I am not quite sure on the shape of it. I haven't used it in 2 years and it was marginal as far as a ramp goes. It may have been improved by now.
