Got him with a freeshaft on the Yamaha. Hit him right behind the eye and he never twitched, just sank. It was a little tough swimming with that thing clipped off to the stringer. Got a couple of red snapper there too. We ended up with 10 manroves to 8 pounds, 2 red snapper, 2 grouper (1 red and 1 gag), 1 rock bass, 1 trigger, and 1 28 pound AJ.
Would have had more mangroves but the spot we were on became shark central. After I ran at one and tried to make him leave I turned around to see another come cruising in and the other just coming back. 5-6 foot sandbars. Andre and I were shooting manroves as quickly as we could reload. Still had a half a tank when we were interupted.
Vis and current were perfect for shooting. Vis was a hazy 20 feet and current was non-existant. Temps were a comfortable 73.
I hit several fish that got off my spear or that I completely blew through them. If we had all the fish I hit I'd still be cleaning fish. Only missed 3 times all day.

No sharks on the yamaha. They were on another site.

We had a great time!! I do not know how long I had my head under some structure while those sharks were swimming around. I had just shot a huge mangrove that took my spear under some metal pieces that were covered with fishing tackle. When I righted myself I found our new friends swimming around us. I'm sure if they wanted my legs they could have gotten me easily as I had my head looking down for at least 3 minutes....
