Lake Talquin is the most convenient location to get it wet...

Is talquin a suitable place for brushing up on boating skills? The last thing I want to do is to go and knock the lower unit off of a brand new outboard.

The lake isn't in drawdown is it? How many hidden hazards are submerged?

What's the most convenient lake boat ramp to NW Tallahassee (Fred George Road)?

Talquin is West of town. Fred George (or Crowder as it's known on the East side of US27) is Lk Jackson (which has no water to test a 17' boat.)

I think TinCan or somebody else will tell you that you need to go out to Stoutamire or Williams landing to test drive. Do not stop at Coe's and turn right from the landing! That's wear I almost wore my 15 hp in my lap one day!

I fish Talquin a lot.

You can run Talquin if you KNOW where you are.

If you THINK you know where you are, idle.

If you DON'T KNOW where you are, use the trolling motor.

Talquin has been the demise of many a boat, motor, and prop.

I fish there quite a bit also and you can definately ruin your day by just runnin anywhere. You could go to lake seminole, it has channel markers and its not too much farther than lake talquin

I knew I didn't wanna do the crowder ramp into lake jackson, I reconed that and "nuh uh"

I hear these awesome Lake Talquin fishing stories, but I won't make one at the expense of my new boat

Maybe we can brush up at St. Marks where we are buying the boat, or Seminole, or Kingsley lake on the way to Jacksonville, it's the deepest, clearest lake I know of in Florida.
