Snook, I don't know anyone that scallops the Econfina area. Most of the scalloping is done well west of there. That's probably why you didn't get any replies.

None in the last 3 years, bad water , was good in years past, depends on the water.

Steinhatchee, Keaton, Lanark, and St. Joe Bay are the scalloping destinations. I haven't heard anyone scalloping at Econfina in quite some time. Troutfisher used to scallop out of there, so if he didn't say anything, either he ain't healed enough to type or there isn't much to it. I think he has healed enough to type

We scalloped at Econfina a few years back. Last few years, the water was too cloudy like they said. We actually did well, and picked up 10 gallons between 2 boats. I carried a jet ski and used it to scout for scallops as it was easy to get on and off, then would get the boats and divers. Be SURE to carry a divers flag, or the man might get ya. If the water is clearer this year, go for it....
I will have to say that is the most work I did for a little payoff....LOL
10 gallons made like maybe a pint of scallops......
