Looking at a kayak for general use with my wife or son. Found an RTM that I think I like. Not being experienced with brands and models I was hoping someone would provide a comment or two on this brand/model.

Thanks

I'm sorry I can't help you much as I'm not familiar with that particular kayak.

One interesting thing to point out, though, is that you can setup this tandem to go solo. For anyone forced to go with a tandem, this is definitely a feature you'll want to look for if you have any plans on going solo. Tandems typically just don't paddle solo well unless you have the option of moving the seat to the center. Again, that's something you can do in the Ocean Duo.

I'm not sure what kind of price you're getting on it, but watch out for the cost of necessary add-ons (seats, paddles, etc.). The Hobie Kona Tandem is under $999 at Wilderness Way, here in Tally, and comes with seats and paddles. It, too, can be setup solo. And you can't beat Hobie craftmanship and customer support.

Salty_dog, definitely let us know how it goes if you end up getting that Ocean Duo kayak.

Ron, Thanks for the reply. Being able to use it myself and with someone else was one of the things I like about it. I'll let you know what comes of the opportunity. Being that it is used, it already comes with the seats and paddles. Thanks for your insight.
