Finally got out.
Kicked butt.
Early the wind was down so I was able to break out the fly rod, which was my first time actually casting from a boat. I was pleased to find that being three feet off the water makes things a bit easier. After switching to a sinking fly I caught Spanish (24"), Blues, Trout and Ladyfish.
Sure is pretty to hold up a fish with a fly set just in the corner of it's mouth.
Just like on TV.
The rest of the day was steady with many more of the same species and we (2 of us) kept a big supper of trout. The trout ran big and we released ~8-10 over 20 with the biggest at 24". Also brought home a 4lb Pompano, caught on a spec rig -with a Ladyfish on the other jig.
By 3:00 the wind was howling so we bounced our happy selves home.
