Fished for four days, Friday through Monday, from Dog Island Reef and the back side of Dog, all around the Lanark Reef, both inside and outside, all the way down to the old Island View.

Water temperature varied from 79-82, and we fished from 2-10' depths. Water varied from coffee color to gin clear, and the wind blew (of course). First cast about 1:30 PM on Friday yielded a fat 25" trout, about 4.5#, my personal best. (Of course, it was all downhill from there.) Fished early, mid-day, and late, but the fishing was mostly slow.

Caught the following:
Trout, reds, spanish, a huge stingray, shark, hard heads and sailcats, pins, and just about every other trash fish known to man-sure wish I'da been fishing the trash fish classic. Missed a hookup on a small cobia, and hung two huge sharks that put on aerial shows before leaving me holding the rod and shaking my head.

Camped at Ho Hum RV Park, did not go to the bash, but had a great time with my beautiful wife, my Dad, and step mom, and it really sucks to be back at work. :smt010

Nah, didn't have the proper attire anyway... I left all the jean cutoffs and wife-beaters at home.

I seem to be having the same luck. Anyone want to tell me where I can catch some trout this weekend and how.

Sounds like "the curse of the big drive," as the golfers would say.

Just reading the reports here (I haven't been fishing much recently), it sure seems like the big trout are around this year, but the numbers of keeper trout are a bit down.
