If you are lauching a skiff I assume you plan to fish the flats. You will be much better off trailering the 5 miles east to lanark and put in at the fina station. It will save you a long boat ride to the flats.

I was just there the first weekend of this month. As Tom said, put in at the village mart in Lanark. However, this is actually less than a mile from the Ho Hum.

If it stays (relatively) calm, anchor in front of the campground when not in use. It'll save you the $10 ramp fee. Watch the tides, or you will get grounded, however.

If you are fishing the flats, inside the Lanark reef is excellent trout fishing if the wind is up, outside the reef and backside of Dog Island or out at Dog Island Reef is excellent fishing for most anything that swims inshore. Watch the afternoon winds, the bay can get REAL nasty if you aren't careful.

Also, talk to Wade, the campground host with the little Zodiac inflatable. He'll put you on the fish. Behind the old Island View Inn, close in, makes for good redfishin'.

Lanark Village Mart is @ Spring Street and 98.

Ramp fee is $10 I think. I pay $100 yearly.

Get there early or be patient. :smt014 :smt014
