I was on vacation this week and took the family offshore and got in the gags as fast as we could catch them. My wife was hauling them up when my 10 year old (Chris) screams he got something big, he is fishing with a mitchell 300 gold with a 7' allstar and 12lb line with a half of a cigar minnow and it is wraped around the side of the boat. He almost lost the rod and had to stradle the handle to hold on, he finnaly turns the fish and a 30+ incher comes to the surface. Needles to say this was the highlight of his trip and mine. I filleted 7 nice gags and we only fished about 3 hours. I was working on my house most of the week and my wife got sick so I didnt get to go back out. I think I will have a hard time going back without Chris from now on, but why would I want to. 8)

Thanks, yea the bite was the most aggressive I have found this year. Although I have only been offshore about 4 times this year. But a trip with the guys is in short order after this trip. 8)
