Today was a special day. My son was here to fish with me.

We were at the refuge gate when it opened. Slid the red cross boat off of the trailer and headed east. Fished 2' of water early. My son caught a 23" and a 19.5" trout in the first 10 minutes. Caught a few more keepers. When the tide started in we headed to my favorite creek. I told my son where to cast his bait and, sure enough, he hooked and landed a 31" red. 10 minutes later he boated a 26" red. We had a couple more on, but quick released them. We then headed out to about 3' of water where my son promptly boated a 23" and a 24" trout. Moved to 6' of water. Immediately got our grubs torn up. After a short time, rather than reolace the grub, I fished with whatever was left on the hook. Caught half a dozen 6" blues. They were in there thick. I did manage 2 sand trout and 1 short speckled trout in all this madness. By this time we were tired of fighting the wind. Back on the trailer at 2:15.

I posted what my son caught today. I also posted what I caught. The boy put a whuppin on his old man today.

TC, does he use the circle/slingshot cast method too?

Does anyone else use the circle cast that TC does?

Any trip spent with family is time well spent. Makes ya feel good when your youngun out fishes you. Heck, what did ya expect - you taught him to fish.

Rodbow, he does indeed use the "WINDUP" cast. It's a family trademark.
