Anyone know of a good spot on Lake Carr or Iammonia to catch shiners? Haven't had time to bait them up and thought maybe I might catch them the sporting way. Not above chuming with oatmeal first.

Almost anywhere will work- you just need to bait them first.
I like finding a secluded hole near a lot of cover-
Then bait them the day or two before you fish.
Sinking Fish pellets or dog food soaked in water will work for bait.
Use bread balls on a #10 hook under a float.
We have used a cast net in the past- but I'm really not sure if that is legal.
Anyone know the regs on castnetting bait in freshwater?

Absolutely legal.....but you can't keep any game fish ( bass for example ) you catch in the net. But catching shinners with a cast net is definitely Ok.......and may I say the BEST way to catch'm..........luk
