Where to put the boat?? The yard? Or the carport?

I moved! That's one poor excuse from my absence around here. But I am slowly creeping back [so look out redfish!], and I have a question for y'all:
I have been keeping my little Whaler 13-footer in the carport. But with my new place, I have a choice of keeping either the boat or my truck in the carport. I have put the boat in there for now. But I don't have a shady area to park the truck in, and of course I sometimes get caught in the rain.
So, I wonder what y'all think.
The boat is a 13ft. Whaler Sport. I don't leave the electronics on the boat when I park it. It is, of course, fiberglass gellcoat.
Now, if I leave it out in the weather, the next question is, should I put a cover on it? I have a cover that fits it pretty well, but it will trap humidity.
