Hey guys -- we're thinking of putting the boat in at the Port St. Joe bridge this weekend and checking out the north end of Cape San Blas. Any advice on good spots? Tricky places to stay away from?
Water depth can be misleading, watch wear you run...That is a tricky ramp, alot of current ripping through there....and alot of deep water from there to the cape as well...I would put in at Eagle Harbor before the bridge
I do remember that current from the canal. I've seen some boats having to do some tricky docking there. Maybe we'll try Eagle Harbor. Or, I think there's a ramp at the city park in Port St. Joe we can try.
My navigator tells me I really meant the west end of St. Joseph Peninsula. Technically it's an extension of the cape. Funny, it looks and feels like north to me.
But y'all probably know what I mean: the far tip of the peninsula past the end of the road at the state park -- directly across the bay from Port St. Joe.
Thats one of the coolest places i've been ! No rocks to hit , just sand , make sure you know your tides , if you beach the boat make sure the tide is not going out ! Fish hold along Eagle Harbor as was said above. Fish the grass patches until you find the depth where they are !
