There is a small group of kayakers near Tallahassee that are trying to hookup on Tarpon while they are migrating through our area. If you have seen any within a short paddling distance from shore, in our area, it would be very helpful if you can post where you have seen them. Thank you very much!!!

You might want to try the channel coming out of Alligator Point Harbor or in the harbor. Watch for pelicans feeding on Ly's. Watch out for large sharks to

Tarpon

There were some running the sanbars off of St. Joe Peninsula last week. I was there for a week fishing both the bay and the Gulf. On the Gulf side, near the State Park entrance, there are two sandbars running paralell to the beach. The tarpon came by me several times, rolling on top just along the outside edge of the furthest sandbar from the beach. It is probably less than 1/4 mile paddle from shore.

While you wait for the tarpon, there are a lot of shark, spanish, and blues following the bait pods out there as well. The action is pretty steady, unless the tide is dead still.

Good Luck -
