It was cold this morning at daylight. I Idled out of the canal at the lighthouse a little before first light. When i cleared the river it was about 1 foot. So I decided to run out about 8 miles. Within 15 minutes of reaching my destination the wind picked up. It got ugly for a little boat. I pointed her into the wind and threw a trolling bait out the back. Managed to get soaking wet. Caught 1 keeper and 4 shorts early. Dewey, you don't have to worry about Lizard Fish any more. I caught every one out there, today. I also caught several good sized Sea Bass. I esed back in to where Tom and I caught the fish last week to kill time on the slack tide. The wind shifted out of the southwest in the early afternoon, and It got near slick out there about 12:00. I headed east to a little spot I have, Caught 8 shorts, bottom fishing.I ran back to where Tom and I caught them, again, about 3:00. Made 2 passes and caught 3 more keepers. Lots of dead time, today, with a mid-day low. All in all, not a bad day on the water if you don't mind getting a little wet and freezing.
