Hi folks Captain Gary Goodrich here,
Its HOT the weather and the fishing. The Trout bite is good using a root beer colored grub under a popping cork . Its working well in the dark waters of Apalachicola and the clear waters of St Joe bay. The Red fish are taking gold spoons with both the Red fish and Trout taking live bait free lined or under cork. The Spanish are still around the flats but not as thick as July , But I look for them to pick back up. Tarpon are in the bay , but mainly outside along the gulf beach and poggies are your best bait . If you want to hook up stay outside the Poggie schools where the water color changes.
Its Alligator time again . We took the air boat out scouting Monday night. They are thick around east river and the Lake Wimmico areas. The mullet are so thick along the beach, on are way back we had 10 jump in the boat .
Scallops are still here in fair numbers and you still have a few weeks left for the hunt .Most scallops are being taken along town beach , but don’t over look any bottom around the state park.
Good Luck and have a Safe trip
Captain Gary Goodrich

Thanks Captain. As always, good info. Have you noticed all the LARGE sharks cruising outside the Cape? I don't remember seeing them in such great numbers during years past. Think I'll be launching out of Apalach on Sat morning. Maybe I'll see you there. Tight lines.
