Two boats of us went west of the lighthouse today and held a mini tournament. Butch and I won with 15 pounds 8 ounces. We caught trout from 7 am until we could not stand it anymore. We also caught nice large Spanish and Blues.
The most productive baits were Gulp shrimp, Crawfish,Skitterwalks and Bone Diamond.
We fished from 2 feet to 7 feet most of the day.
We threw back 3 limits of keepers including 4 over 20". We also had at least 20 short trout.
The other boat had 13 pounds 11 ounces.
Our two big trout we kept were 25" and 23".
August is not known for these weights, however they were there today.

One half of the BassBoyz team,Chuck Collins and his big brother Hugh.
Trouttrent, the other half of the Bassboyz could not get a kitchen pass.
It was one of those days where the fish fed the whole time. We were in the water at 7 and out at 2:30. We fished up to 3 miles apart at times. Some areas were fish every cast. Other areas slowed down to fish every other cast. That helped because sometimes you needed a break.

I've been saying I'm gonna wait on it to cool down before I make that expensive trip to the coast, but after a report like that I might have to suck it up and head that way soon..........Great report. Congrats !

Good deal.

I wet a line for about an hour west of the LH on Saturday and I couldn't catch a darn thing. :hammer:
