Mornin' Folks. :smt006

A post from yesterday over on http://www.bikeforums.net/index.php

Why people over 40 don't need to ride
I now firmly believe that people over 40 that require reading glasses need to sell their bikes and get Recumbants. I would have argued against that point adematley until about 10 minutes ago when I had one of the worst accidents ever while preparing for my morning ride.

I'm 48 years old and as many of you do, I have the associated aches and pains that go with exercizing at a very high level. That requires chemicals such as Advil before a ride and a new chemical just added to my arsenal that shall remain nameless for now.

So this morning, I get up and wanting to be considerate, I started getting dressed in the semi dark to avoid waking my wife. I was planning on doing a 60 mile ride so I reached in my "bike bag" for the Chamois Butter. Little did I know that this incident would turn out so badly.

You see, my loving and considerate wife of nearly 25 years had thought it a nice gesture to include a tube of "ICY HOT" in my cycling bag in order to help get these old muscles loosened up and ready for the ride. With my reading glasses on the nightstand I never saw it coming. :o

Well, I guess you know the rest of the story. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT carry Icy Hot in your cycling supplies. Place it in a seperate area and you will know what you're using. This might be funny in six months but for now I can tell you that Icy Hot is not intended for the male genetalia!
