Yak storage

I just had a question from a coworker about how to store 4 sit on top Kayaks. From what he tells me they'r 9 footers.
Since he doesn't have enough room inside the garage, my suggestion was to build a couple of T's (similar to a closeline pole) with a second cross bar below the top T out of pressure treated materials.
Place them aprox 5 ft apart leaving 2' of yak hanging over each end. Put an eye bolt in the post above each yak and another one in the end of each cross bar for a bungee strap to tie down the hull. 4x4 post and 2x4 or 2x6 cross members. Possibly run a ridge pole across the top and cover the whole thing with a tarp if he wanted to. Since I've never set foot (or anything else) in one of these contraptions, I'd be interested in hearing any suggestions or having any concerns pointed out with respect to my suggested method. Thanks. folks.
