How often?
Mine have a rubber cap and then a zerk fitting. I have a big grease gun full of marine grease.
I am wondering should I just give her a few shots every now and then or what?

Every trip is not too often. Grease in water out.
P.S. When you buy a trailer they basically give you a STARTER KIT of grease in the bearings.
Fill the bearings yourself and keep them full.

I grease mine about every third trip, but more often if you are seeing water when you pull the rubber plugs. But theres alson nothing wrong with greasing them every trip either.

Playing with the grease is fun.
I put some grease in the hubs, then grease the tilt/trim rams on the bracket, then the trailer winch gears, then the jackstand... then I grab a beer. Then I smell my fingers. Is that wierd?

Its only weird if you dont go back and smell them again every couple of minutes for the next few hours.

If you do it everytime you will actually wind up about every 3rd time. The AW HECK I'll do it next time syndrome will take over.
Also,if you do it frequently you only need a half shot of grease.

I just bought some "redeye" buddy bearings . The ones endorsed by Dance.
Anybody know about these?
They claim to let you know when to grease by the color of the "eyes" around the fitting.
Gonna install them tomorrow.

The red eye bearing buddys work well. They have a floating piece in the center. When the hub is full of grease the red shows. When it's low the red goes away.
