Lake Talquin

Recent rains have cooled the water about five degrees in Lake Talquin. As a result, some crappie are being caught by trolling along the creek channels. Bream have bedded again and numerous limits are being caught along the shoreline and in sandy areas in less than 4 feet of water. Both giant red worms and glow worms are effective baits. The same baits will attract catfish, which are biting extremely well off any of the docks around the lake. The bigger catfish have been running between 7 and 9 pounds. Bass fishing has improved slightly but still remains slow.
