Some guys (and gals) sure are proud of their boats. Alot of 'em like to give you an up close view when you're anchored or drifting. If they would only slow down a bit so we can really admire them.

I take it you had a close encounter of the bad kind. Do tell.

Of course, from something I saw this weekend, if you anchor up in a channel, you gonna get rocked.
I try to move way away from folks drifting and/or anchoring, but when they are in the channel or up against the channel, they really shouldn't expect folks to slow down or move out of the channel.

Nothing terribly bad. Seems some folks could be a little more considerate out there sometimes. There's usually plenty of room to move about without speeding by so close.
Does it torment the fish? I dunno. Does the wake bother me? Not really. Do I think its inconsiderate? Yep.

I tend to treat others as I would want to be treated.
Does it piss me off if someone anchors inside a channel - yes - therefore I don't do it.
Does it piss me off when I'm on a nice drift toward shore in 3 feet of water and a pontoon boat decides to go between me and the shore rather than go 30 feet out of his way behind me- yes - therefore I tend to go out of my way to avoid people. I tend to try and give 30 to 50 yards.
Its a big pond show some respect.
Does it ruin my day when its done to me - no - but think people
it would only please me if it were a boat full of girls in bikinis and I don't see that to much out on the flats.

Yeah. You're pretty much asking for it. Plus, the channel anchoring is a navigation no-no, isn't it?

Funny thing I was headed over to spring creek on Friday and saw a guy anchored in the middle of the tightest cut between two bars, it might be 15' across. Now I'm sure this is a good spot to catch fish but you should have seen him running for the anchor line when I came up on plane.
I kinda shook my head as I passed and he new he was doing something wrong by the look on his face.
from the state boating laws.
"Except in the event of an emergency, it is unlawful for any person to anchor or operate a vessel in a manner that will unreasonably interfere with the navigation of other vessels."
