We did some purty-good fish'in yesterday, put the Cape Craft 17 ft. in at 9 am and worked our way down on falling tide. No topwater action at mouth, hooked up with and brought in a 9 lb. jack crevalle on white gulp. You talk about a fight, we fouhjt him 15 mins. and 6 trips around the boat. Got a picture and sent him back. Then headed west, stopped near double hump and only caught shiners for bait, some good grassy and spotty bottom there but no trout. Tide almost out and water very low, could not get the boat in close to shore to try the bars so went over to first stake and put some shiners out on corks. Only got 1 small sailcat, started to look like a bust. About 1 pm we went further west to where 2nd stake used to be and finally found a few fish, 3 trout and a big blue. Moved around and got 2 more, had to head back about 3 pm and stopped close to Aucilla mouth on the way back, found some good trout. Got 5 more keepers tp 18'' and then packed it in a 2nd time at 5 pm. It was WINDY, rode back to Icky in the flying washing machine but the boat handled it really well. I needed to put some miles on the boat anyway, hadn't been in the water since May. Ended up with 10 trout to 18'', a big blue, and the biggest pigfish we ever caught-looked like 10''. We got 2 short black bass on plugs, no keeper ones. We caught the fish on different lures, some on r-w catch Jr. and most of the other ones on lime green jig tails with gulp cut bait. They bit good after tide started rising about 3 pm. A good day with the wife, nice quality time together and I let her catch most of the fish.
