After getting the signs up for my wife's junk sale, Amanda and I got away around noon thinking that it would still be cooler than usual
.
Stopped at Jerry's and got some of those Cubans Tom had talked about - mmmm; and a few shrimps.
Put in at the LH - man it looked like high fishing season there was so many folks. As it turned out it was beautiful on the water and so we went farther out than usual and played around in 17'-20' water exploring.
Caught bunches and lost bunches of jigheads to the lady's. Caught some wierdo fish that Amanda will have to do a report on once she finds out what they were. (camera battery dead) Saw loads of what I will call blues tearing up the surface of the water all around us - and probably contributed to some of the cutoffs. A Sea Turtle amuzed him or herself scaring the bajeebies out of us time and again.. I could hear him chuckling at us after we were startled by his surprising arrival.
Thought we would go to rotary to check it out but will leave it for another smooth day. Didn't bring home anything 'cept another fine day with my daughter. I mentioned to her that pretty soon it'll be some guy she'll be fishing with instead of Dad. She said she'd have to have a guy that fished otherwise he'd be stupid - and laughed.
I do have a question that y'all can answer. We saw a 3.5' to 4' fish jump several times what looked to be 4' out the water. Seems like it had a forked tail and ridges on its back like mackeral but it was more thick from center forward. Any ideas?
Thanks
