10/12 - Mouth of the Ock - killing some time waiting on someone from Orlando, ended up catching 7 17-20" trout and missed 3 reds

, oh yeah, and a flounder. fished about an hour
10/13 - put in at Lanark. farted around for an hour or so, caught 1 keeper trout, then decided to run off to about 35'. Caught a 38"+ red on a stretch 30 trolling, then caught 3 AJ's, but could only keep 2. On the way back in there must have been 10 billion lady fish around Dog Isl, couldn't resist, caught those damn things until our arms got sore
should have gone back to Ock this pm, but too lazy, trout and reds were slow around Lanark this pm, freakin lady fish and blues wouldn't leave it alone long enough for a good fish to bite it
wasn't a great day, but sure beats work
may run offshore out of the Ock early am, those grouper pissed me off today not biting

I'm assuming the 38" red was a grouper?
Not a bad 2 days, at all.

Nice trip(s)

Man I wish I had been at that ramp...I love me some grilled AJ

You know it's funny what kinds of fish people like/don't like. For example: I give all of my cobia away....most people love'm...I can't stand them. I think if we all had the fish we don't like cooked the RIGHT way, we would change our minds. Just my humble opinion

well i rarely eat fish

but i've heard AJ's are pretty strong...
today was rough, put in at Ock, blowing like a mofo, took out and went to Lanark to get a break from the wind, but the fishing (from 10am-12:30am) was slow, bunch of short trout, maybe 10 billion pinfish nibbles, and the wind was a real pain in the arse, so we pulled out, cleaned up the house, and i now sit in T'ville, all 3 kids are gone, the wife and i have the house to ourselves
i damn sure can't figure out the reds though

maybe one day i can bribe wevans enough to show me a thing or 3 about redfishing

I hear you, UFgator. I thought I had the redfish numbrt, since I managed to do pretty well during December through March in the Aucilla, St. Marks and Wakulla rivers. But once they moved out, and I attempted to follow, all I can find is trout.
Maybe I can get anyone (since it seems like everyone is catching them now) to show me a thing or three.

Sounds like a good couple of days to me.
Them reds are easy. You just gotta go shallow.

Yep, most of mine come from 6" to 24" water
