Couldn't leave till mid afternoon but wanted to check my couple of crab traps Sunday. Got out there about 4:00.

Decided to troll one of those CD lures over some structure in 15' while in the neighborhood. Rod doubled and I thought I was hung on the rock, but then the rock started shaking his head. Took me at few minutes to reel in a 24" gag that fought all the way to the boat on 17 lb test.

Got excited and wasted about 45 mins trying to catch another but no luck. Got around to why I was there to begin with and pulled my traps. Got about 10 of the biggest stone crab claws I've ever seen. :lick:

It's getting to be my favorite time of the year. :D

Jim, I was thinking about putting out a few traps. Can you tell me the basics or steer me to a website with info on doing it.

Swatdog -

I put some info over on a post asking for advice on the "Fishing" forum. Also there is a link to FWCC web site for all applicable regs.

Good luck if you try it
