Hello all!

I just wanted to say hello and see if there were any of you on here that fish Oyster Bay. I would love to hear some good fish tales and get some tips from all of you experienced fisherfolks.

I have pulled a red or two out of some of the holes around there. Plus some nice trout and a flounder or two. :lick:

Welcome HH :smt006 I don't think there's an Oyster bar in the bay that DON'T have some fish on it :-D I fish it some, but mostly fish the front side of Piney Island :smt004 Ty One On is the master of Oyster Bay   Check the inshore fishing reports for many clues to that area ;-)

Now that's funny :-D , I do have a tendency to frequent that area. Mainly in the Spring from April to June and again from September to November. I like to fish right up on the bars, one to two feet of water. As Wevens will agree, One will not catch a lot of fish, but one will have good quality of fish. It is similar to the action you get while Bass fishing. Slow but rewarding.

I may have to go Sunday.

Low tide 8:55am fish all rising

I think I could brave those conditions. You going?

Shoot - I wish I could get down there and enjoy the fishing! I bet it is really great right now.

Have the springs started pushing more water yet? I remember the cold hole being warm and not moving much at all over Labor Day.

Ok, HH, rather than assume anything, I'll ask, what is a dirt decorator?

BTW, welcome.

I think the name "Spring Creek" will have to be renamed to just "Creek" :smt009

Why, a dirt decorator is exactly what it sounds like. I take dirt and make it look better with shrubs and trees and the like. I like to plan ways to make dirt look it's best. :-D

How about Condo Creek? I think the next 10-15 years will be very telling for the sleepy little fishing village. I heard that there is a new house and boat house/dock going in on the strip of land between the two springs. I guess progress catches up with every place in the end.

I just hope that the fishing stays great and the good holes stay fairly well kept secrets. ;-)

Speaking of good fishing spots - I need to find some places for catching some mangrove snapper. Those are #1 on my TASTY list. I guess hanging around the springs this winter would be a good bet?

According to the Wakulla news, the Springs have quit discharging water and are now SUCKING salt water down the hole :o :smt009

Wevens, Those golf courses through out the state need all the water they can get. When all the fresh water is gone a little salt water will have to do the trick.

If they would use Astro-turf on golf courses maybe the springs and lakes would fill back up.

But what do I know. I'm just a dumb fishermen.
