The Bass woke up!

Post by Ken K »

It must have gotten up close to 70 today. I only had a few minutes to fish but I got four good little bass in about 45 minutes. They still love the black trick worm. :D I got one hit on a baby bass color Shad Rap but I snatched it out of his mouth.

Dewey, I got a package of those Creme Little Fishies tonight, will give them a try tuesday or wednesday.

Them trick worms don't catch no fish!
Ken I've been using them since they hit the market. If the fish get real finicky, try the finess worm.
What was I supposed to do today?

It's a small world, unless you had to paint it.

It got cold again and they turned back off. I caught two yesterday. One on the black trick worm, one on a spinner bait.

I picked up some 1 1/2" shad assassins and some 1/32 jig heads. Those, and the little fishies make a great replacement for the jig that comes on a Johnson Beetle spin.

Late yesterday I found the bass laid up in less than a foot of water soaking up the sun. They were spooky and had the lockjaw. A couple of times they saw my lure coming out of the air and jumped before it even hit the water.

There is literally, about a ton of pine straw floating in the pond right now. It makes it a PITA to fish. I am about ready to let them rest until spring.

Going to the pond where Auston caught his largest bass tomorrow.
If the wether will cooperate maybe he can get one for the wall.
