Lowtide was around 0900 this morning, so I didn't hurry out the house this morning, left around 0830 and was sliding across the bay at 0900.
Today was a scouting day, thinking of entering the Howell tournament next weekend...Didn't want to hit my goto spots, so I went looking.
Came off plane at a new spot and was awarded with a nice 19" redfish after a few casts...Not a bad way to start...We received several inches of rain the other night and the water sure was stained up bad, only found clean water in two spots and I went 32 miles all day...Ended up landing 7 redfish to 27", missed probably 15 or so reds, missed as in came out of the water and landed on my plug
...Only had 4 trout hits, two were good fish, but they didn't find the hooks.
Fish were caught on floating lures and lures fashioned from metal with a hook
Boat ran great, nothing broke, found another fishing spot, caught some fish, can't wait til next time
