One stranded Soul...

While I was in St. Augustine this past week, I meandered down to the beach to stumble on this unlucky fellow stuck in the sand. He was sitting inside the cabin reading a book. I thought it was an odd sight. His hull must have been sunk 3' down into the sand. This would sure bring my weekend plans to a standstill....

Did you talk to him? He might have put it up there on purpose to expose the hull for cleaning. I've seen folks do this.

The way the boat's sitting leads me to believe he might have a retractable centerboard, rather than a keel. A keel will heel the boat over on it's side as the tide falls.

Readin' a book waitin' for the tide to turn.

Did he have any Caribbean steel drum music on the radio and a Corona within reach?
