Depthfinder display problem

Post by Just Fish »

This might not be the right forum to use but couldn't find a better one. Has anyone every seen a display problem with thier fish finder where every other horizontal line is blank? I am thinking its an electrical problem or maybe some corrosion somewhere but if it is I can't find it. It was working fine then one day I turned it on and it now looks like a horizontal stripped shirt on the screen. Everything works fine.

Any tips would be appreciated.

Over the years I've had 3 locators do that. Box it up and send it back to the manufacturer for repair. Most manufacturers have a fkat rate fee to repair a unit.

Maybe I should ask what brand and model the unit is. If it's not a very expensive unit, you might do just as well to replace it.
What was I supposed to do today?

Yea I am going to take it in today and see what a replacement will cost. The unit is a Lowrance X65 so not much loss there.

Comparable price for reference: Similar problem + a little more on Sitex CVS106L 83.00 for repair. About a week to get back from Clearwater.
