STOLEN VEHICLE 11/5/06 - UPDATE

A shot in the dark, but, my brand new 2006 2 door honda civic was stolen from my home last night. I live in Killearn Estates on a dead end street. FL tag number D82 4MR, though I am sure it is gone. The 2 door has a distinctive look, not many of them around. The car alarm was on, no broken glass and not a sound from the dogs.
If you see it, call the police, or me at 212-8245. It is probably on the way to a chop shop somewhere. It has my daughters schoolbooks in it and my materials for the volunteer work I do with at risk kids, go figure.

Are those cars easy to steal?

They are not supposed to be easy to steal. It was immobilized. Takes an electronic device of some sort to make it ready to drive without the key, etc. Pro job I suspect. TPD response was dissapointing, ' If you find it, let us know', HUH? $19,000 and good luck?. Kind of 'o, bye bye'.
We need to elect a pd chief. Just p*****, i am.

Had to be a stealth tow truck. I have a dog that barks at anything. I think they had some electronic device. Maybe it was an alien abduction.

UPDATE
You never hear people thanking towing companies, but, many thanks to Hobkirk towing and recovery for towing my vehicle from a restricted area on their regular rounds 14 miles away from my home and less than an hour after it was stolen. Contents of the car were still in it, undisturbed. It was found at the san marcos apartment complex behind the head of the St. Marks bike trail (cap. cir. and Woodville hwy.) The ignition may have to be replaced, and the radio scrubbed from a hip hop station, but it looks fine. Gonna get the K-9 unit to check it out, I sure as heck don't want them stopping me and having a dog light on it.
Only down side is that I have accumulated 10+ days of impound fees. Can't figure out how I was notified 11 days later that it had been found. Oh Well. glad to have it back. LoJack on my Christmas list.
Thank a tow truck driver!

YOU may want to thank them, BUT they should have notified you the day it was towed....
They just are stealing 10 days of fees from you....
I would take them to court over it....
Whenever they tow a vehicle, it is THEIR responsibility to inform the owner promptly. Also, they WERE in possession of a stolen vehicle for 10 days....right? I mean, you DID report it to police didn't you?
My 2 cents worth.....

You don't have to pay towing fees - show them a copy of the police report where you reported it stolen.
Civics are popular with those that boost cars.
