Got there about noon. MANY boats. Lots of idiots out this weekend.
Got immediately on some sheephead. After kecthing 2 a boat went by every 1 minute.
Moved out to left of the mouth in a creek and caught 1 keeper red and several pups on the incoming tide.
Moved back in front of the cut and I looked back and commented to my fishing pard.."look at that guy running WOT, he's gonna"...BAM!
We thought he hit a rock out in the mouth area. Oh NO....
THE IDIOT RAN INTO THE BACK OF ANOTHER BOAT!!!!!!!!!!
He had a J14, and hit the back end of a aluminum john. Knocked his wife in the water.
Nobody was hurt by a miracle.
Then when he was closing in on us I heard him tell his wife..."there's another boat right in the way!"...
Well..
We caught many many short trout in the river.
But go there with caution on a holiday!

Me & FishMasterson braved the crowd at Aucilla, and I was amazed at the amount of boats at the ramp
When we got back there was two FWC, and one of them (female) was writing someone what looked a novel of tickets! When I went to use the "facilities" I over heard a man telling her the story you mentioned. I did not know if he was telling a previous story he had witnessed or if that it had happened today.
Glad/hope the woman is ok.
Looked like there was a State holiday for Georgia held at the Aucilla today. They was stacked up in the river like cord wood

Yes I believe it was Georgia day. A few were state hospital escapees!
rocket you and I just missed each other, we came in right at sundown, and got checked by the ociffers.
Those parked by the facilities were those involved in the idiot fiasco.
One guy ran in just as it turned dark WOT with no running lights, and the female ociffer yelled at him! He got a ticket.

All I can say is wow! With all of those boats in the river, I don't see how anybody could justify running WOT. Of course Rocket kept telling me that I should, but he always says that, especially when he knows we are surrounded by rocks

. He is so disreputable sometimes.
Rod Bow, I don't think you are supposed to carry a firearm with you to the Aucilla, because you have to pass through the refuge to get there. I had firearms in my truck, and was a little nervous about it at the ramp when I saw the FWC officers there. I guess they were plenty busy with the aforementioned incident, so we slipped away unnoticed.

Next time you see us in FM's or my boat (G3 1860 tunnel w/ the #8 sticker on the back

) be sure and yell!
