Aucilla 11-24

My cousin's husband showed up at the house just as I had the truck cranked to meet Fishmasterson for a afternoon excursion at the Aucilla. He was delivering a Caramel cake my Aunt wanted me to have, so we visited for a while, then off I went. Of course I had to have a couple of bites first
.
FM gave me a cussing for being tardy, but it was worth it
.
When we pulled in to the ramp I was amazed at the amount of trucks parked in the parking lot.
I'm pretty sure the State of Georgia was empty today.
I dumped him in, and it took a long time to get out of the river zig zagging around all the boats staged in the river. Then we headed east. After arriving at our destination FM hooked the first red. After that it was one after another. FM put on a clinic while I played catch up. Jigs were the flavor the reds savored. We fished a couple hours until the tide slacked. We boated 17 reds with FM catching 10 of them.
On the way in I spotted a guy in the river jumping out of his boat on to a root ball of a fallen palm tree. Directly his boat floated off (insert scratching head icon here!) We eased over to his boat to bring it back to him, and wound up towing him in. Seems he was having shear pin troubles and he figured that was a good place to fix it.
I stopped by my BIL's hunting camp on the way home for some
and bs. Mamma's pizzed now cause I didn't get home 'til after 10:00pm,
