Went to the river with a friend of mine. We tried right off to catch a striper and met Wevans. Good to meet you and finally put a face with a name. We gave up on that in short order and started our search for a few willing bass. We went up dead river a piece and started fishing the grass edges. No bites there. We then went back passed the state park and took a right and headed toward the train tressle. Nothing up there either. On the way back down we stopped on a deep bank and and caught a few nice ones to 2.5#'s. After that we went up a few creeeks to flip the brush. Only one small one was caught doing this. Back to the ledges and we caught some more small bass and a small red. Total we caught 9 bass and 1 red. All were caught on taquilla shad worms except one and that was on a red shad. It was a decent day on the river. Not real good catching wise but it was fun.

Cool. Did he cast net them or buy em at the store? Also, are they the wild shiners or silver farm raised shiners?

Thanks. Maybe we'll try that next time. I know a place I can load up on wild shiners before we go. Maybe they will work well there for the bigguns.
