Decided to start fishing here:

I was thinking about trying my hand at some stripers but ended up losing my buck-tail to some rocks :smt012 so we drifted down stream and fished for what we know. It was very nice out to say the least:

We caught a few about like this one:

Later my fishing partner thought she had one on but ended up being hung on a log. Once the boat was positioned to retrieve the lure, she almost fell out because of this surprise:

I told her that was one way to get the blood pumping.
I eventually caught this fine specimen:

This is what it is all about:

The water was really low. I recommend only canoes or yaks for this portion of the river, at least for now. If anyone has any (constructive ) tips for stripers, I would love to get into some. I have only caught them on one outing many years ago with my grandpa. Anyway, total for the day was 3 to 3, a tie.

Nice fish. I haven't fished below the dam in years.

The stripers might not be that far up, yet.

I thought I was doing a good thing by cropping because I wasn't sure whether she wanted her face posted all over the net. Of course that is not the way she thought about it. :hammer: That's what I get for thinking. So no striper tips for a knucklehead? :smt009

 just picking at you a little.

I've never striper fished. A friend of mine catches them right there in the tailrace. Not sure how or what time of year.

Where is that? Never saw that part of the river before.
