Micro draft question? Do the wood boats that Capt. Henderson builds have anything on the bottom to help turning and on curves? By the way, how did your wood boat turn out?

Thanks

Not that I know of....The only thing that will help would be to add strakes....shallow draft does come with it's advantages and disadvantages.....

Still working on the little boat, got epoxy and most of the fiberglass..Santa is bringing me some more fiberglass and composite foam panels....hope to be done by May 2007

I used to have a Plywood boat, it was 20' X 7' wide. It had nothing on the bottom and of course it would slide some in the turns. The motor size was a 40hp. I didn't mind the sliding it was something you would plan for going into a turn. I miss that boat, wish I never sold it.

Chalk, I did a mock-up with some wood and epoxy rasin with the fiberglass tape. I did a fillet and spliced a strip of plywood. I was very happy with the results and plan to begin this winter on my own boat.

Ty - uscomposites.com and bateau.com are the best places to buy material...I'm planning out a carbon fiber casting platform for my little boat, looking forward to slinging some resin and playing with some carbon.

Another question?

How high are the sides on most wood boats? Looks to be in the neiborhood of 12-14 inches. Intresting concept. Wish I could afford a turn key job right now.
