I have been thinking about getting a GPS for over a year.

Wondered if any of you had a Garmin 76 with the computer hookup that you would be willing to loan me over a weekend?

I really want to play with one before I buy it.

Additionally If you have an old one that is sitting in you closet I would be willing to talk $$

Thanks!

I have one that I would be willing to let you play with, but I don't think I want to part with it permanently. It is not a map 76 though. I do have the computer cable though. Send me a :email: with contact info if you are interested.

You won't be able to use it very well without Garmin Mapsource.

You can use mine. I have a GPSMAP76 black and white version. The newer ones have more memory but it will give you a good idea. I can bring it into my office tomorrow and you can give me a call at 850-210-9296 It has maps built into it.

The mapsource is a GREAT tool  you can save the waypoints for different areas into different files and load just the points you will need for that trip. It can do wonders for getting things organized and naming the waypoints using the computer is a lot easier than using the GPS to name them :-D

I would loan you my Map76. Only problem is,it is so used and worn you can hardly see the screen.
I am,however, available for advice on Garmin. My brother and I have 8. Etrex's,12's,76's,Map76's,Map76s,276,etc.
Don't leave home without it.
