Econfina Grouper 12/03
The wife and I decided to take a chance with the weather sunday and give it a try. Launched in skinny water around 11am and proceeded out to the south. It was FOGGY! I had looked over some charts and wanted to try some new areas. We dropped some stretches over at the first spot at 28 feet deep, and within 5 minutes, had good bottom and I reeled in this nice 29 incher.
After a second pass, we had another in the boat, but he was just 1 inch shy of being a keeper. Then we hooked up with a couple more, with them getting off before we could see what they were. Around 1 pm, my wife reeled in this big boy, at 34 inches.
After that, the bite stopped. We dropped anchor over some good bottom, but only caught a few rock bass, none being keepers. All in all a great day, the seas never got over 1 foot. Oh, and did I say it was FOGGY! Glad to have that GPS trail back into the mouth of the river.
Oh, they liked the stretch 25 firetiger......

The more I know about something, the more I know that I did not know as much as I thought I knew that I knew.
