I'm looking, among us who fish, for any AMATEUR (HAM) radio operators who would be interest in participating in a weekly net on HF.

It would be nice to be able to discuss our trips, our good luck and bad luck.

If you are a HAM and might be might be interested drop me an e-mail.

Thanks,

Cap'n. Charlie

Thats a given for most people on this website, and they are amateurish at best when given their fishing talents too. :-D

But I am sorry I am no HAM sir, but for those that are that sounds fun.

I was WA4CKC, then KA4IVO but license expired. Have thought about reactivating but FCC told me I would have to retake the test. For me, the code part would be easy but I've forgotten a lot of the electronics theory and would need to study up on that.

Good luck getting a net started. I'm sure it will be fun. Maybe one day I'll muster the discipline and retake the test and join y'all.

By the way, do you still have to go to Atlanta or some other far-off place or do they give them locally or online? (It's been over 20 years since I took the test).
