The guys paid $9 each for the room. A total of $27. That included $25 for the room and $2 for the bellboy.

Actually they paid $9.33 for the room each and the bell boy got $2

30 -5 = 25 /3=8.33 + 1 back each = 9.33 * 3 = 28 + 2 = 30

$25 - Retained by motel manager
$2 - Kept by clerk

After thinking it over, the desk clerk decides he should have only charged them $25.00 for the room, so he gives $5.00 to the bell boy and tells him to return it to the three men.

On the way there, the bell boy decides to keep $2.00 for himself, so when he gets to the room he tells the men they were overcharged and hands each of them a dollar bill.

As a result, each guy ends up paying $9.00 for the room or $27.00.

If the bell boy kept $2.00, that brings the total to $29.00.

Where did the other dollar go? :lick:

Your math is wrong. The $27 dollars includes the $2 for the bellboy. Add the $3 returned to the men and the total is $30.

Methinks that's surely that old "American owned" motel in
Perry on right side of S19. You're lucky it's only one dollar off! :o
