If you hit the right Aucilla rock right after the island kinda on the right even a release on it wouldn't help you

I have heard of that rock.
I traded out for my new boat yesterday. 16' Scandy White tunnel, hydraulic jack plate, tilt trim, poling platform, 40 2 stroke yammy, rear seat stick steer.
Will be posting pictures soon.

You'll like the jack plate.
Having a jack plate is no different than having the motor bolted to the transom, as far as kicking up. However, when you're idleing in skinny water, you can run the jack plate all the way up and trim the motor up a little bit, and you'll go over MOST everything out there.

WOW! That boat should give shallow water a new meaning!
Can't wait to see pics and get report. Sounds awesome!
The main thing my jackplate does is get me places I really
should not be!

Another question?

Is there any advantage to a jackplate on a boat without a tunnel?

Yes, you can idle further onto a large flat, allows for better motor performance, etc.....There are disadvantages as well...over revving the engine, running it too high and overheating the engine...allows the boat to run skinny, if you get stuck it's usually bad, etc...

After having one on my bassboat I wouldnt say to not get one. Only thing I would recommend is it be hydraulic. The manuals are a tad difficult (read impossible) to adjust without getting wet.
