I Will be going to Pensacola tomorrow (Tuesday 12-19-2006) for the grand opening of the new eastbound I-10 bridge over the Escambia Bay. This will put an end to the single lane traffic in the east bound direction. The west bound traffic will be put on the new structure in days to come. This will mark a mile stone since Hurricane Ivan devastated the area and the existing I-10 structure in September 2004. The people of that are still dealing with all the rebuilding. Their lives will never be what they were before Ivan.

Florida Governor Jeb Bush plans to be there for the ceremony and possibly his Brother the President.

Lets hope for another mild hurricane season next year.

It was a wonderful day today, A bit warm but could have been worse being late December. The folks of the western panhandle have a better route for crossing Escambia bay today while traveling on I-10.

The Governor said it best, "We can respond fast, But if we don't recover fast we have still failed."

Today with many others I got to shake the Governor's hand. Other then JT51's hand that is the most important hand I have ever shook. It did mean something.

It is about time they fixed bridge . . . Last time I went over is was on the way to Orange Beach AL for T-giving.

There was no need. I'm sure he is a regular browser of the BigBendFishing.net forum and reads all of the weekly fishing reports produced by Jerry's Bait and Tackle.

He did ask if you and Jeff were still throwing Poping Corks. I said yes. and he just shook his head.
