OK, folks. It isn't that far away. The first NFGFC tournament of the year will be January 6, 2007. The tournament will be held at The Fort, at St. Marks.
Fishing time will be from safe daylight until 3:00 PM. This is a trout only tournament. You can submit an entry on
http://www.nfgfc.org or enter at the landing the morning of the tournament.
Please be there at least 1/2 hour before safe daylight so we're not doing paperwork when it's time to go fishin.
Hope to see all of you there/
Who's in?

Some folks interpretation of safe light is different than others
No bonus fish?
One man limit?
Are we weighing at 3:00 or need to be back between 3:00 and 3:30. Then weighing at 3:30.
Will there be a big fish pot?
Does the weigh master have final say on illegal fish or can we go over his head?
Okay Bud, I laid the foundation give me some support
A rule you might want to consider is the live fish / dead fsih rule we have on the boat...If a live fish can be made legal and illegal, odds are when it dies, it will be illegal...

There will be a captains meeting at the launch, the morning of the tournament, to clarify rules changes, and answer any questions. Hopefully, I'll get the rules changes posted on the NFGFC web site within the next couple of days.
No bonus fish. No bonus points.
One person's legal limit per boat.
You must be back at the check in for all tournaments by the designated time. For the Jan. 6 tournament the designated time is 3:00 PM. DON'T BE LATE.
There will be a big fish pot on the side, as always.
The weigh master has final say on the measurement of a fish. It would be advisable for everyone to read the state regulations for measuring fish. If, on the short end, I can make a trout 15" by pinching the tail, it's a legal fish, If, on the long end, I can make the fish over 20" by pinching the tail, and the team has more than one fish over 20". it's an illegal fish. This is not NFGFC rules, this is State law. There will be a penalty for illegal fish.
As for safe daylight, it's usually 30 minutes before sunrise. However, there are conditions that would alter this. For example, it won't be safe light as early on an overcast day as it would be on a bluebird day. Safe daylight will be determined on a tournament by tournament basis, at the launch site.
Thanks for asking the questions, Chalk. I'm sure Bud will have more.

A bit of clarification: If Chalk and I land a questionable fish, on either end of the spectrum, it goes back in the pond. See rule 14 of the NFGFC tournament rules.

Rubbing Compound, Bleach, Soap, and 5200 to replace the gelcoat from all the Rock Divets on the bottom of the boat from 2006. and new lettering all the way around.

that only gives me 15 days of prefishin time

Come on over, Wevans. The water around St. Marks tastes just like the water around Bottoms. And don't worry about pre fishing. I'll tell ya everything ya need to know the morning of the tournament.

Bud, If you'll give me a weeks notice, I'll clear up any questions you might have. I'll investigate the tire pressur issue, and get back to you within a week.

Why does this say January 6th and the NFGFC club site says January 27th?
Is this a trailer tire air pressure thing?
Does Sir Reel know about this?

I suppose if it's already on the club web site I can make it official.
